Under-20 coach Charles Bwale has described a draw against the junior Mambas of Mozambique as unfortunate saying he aimed to win all the group matches of the Mopani Copper Mines Under-20 COSAFA tournament taking place in Copperbelt province.

On Saturday, the junior Chipolopolos recorded a 1-1 draw against the junior Mambas after leading up to the 74th minute in their final group match while soccer fans expected the young lads to win following the senior national team’s failure to qualify for 2019 AfCON at the hands of the senior Black Mambas.

In an interview with Goal Diggers! Bwale said he would drill the boys in the training sessions and tighten all the loose ends as they prepare for their next opponents in the semifinals.

“I planned to win all he group matches and it was going on well until yesterday when Mozambique held us to a draw. I am not disappointed because we did not actually lose but I feel we would have done better. I just have to tighten all the seemingly loose ends and defend better in the semis,” he said.

Bwale also said that his side was the favourite to win the cup adding that his side was more tactical and stronger.

“I think we are going to win this tournament but of course not with ease. There are tough teams here but mine is tougher and more tactical. Every substitution I have so far made did not disappoint and they all understand what they are playing for. We just have to win it,” said Bwale.
