Power Dynamos coach Kelvin Kaindu has noted the need to grill his strikers more ahead of the 16th February Kitwe derby fixture against Nkana.
Kaindu in an interview with Goal Diggers! said that his strikers missed a lot of golden chances against police side Nkwazi that led to their 1 nill loss.
He said that solid and disciplined defending should be backed by strikers’ ability to score goals in order to keep defenders motivated.
“I need to sharpen my strikers so that they can be scoring at every chance. We had a lot of missed opportunities against Nkwazi that’s why we lost. Defenders are motivated by strikers especially when they are defending well and with discipline. I will need my strikers to do more than expected against Nkana,” Kaindu said.
Power Dynamos had 11 scoring chances of which six were on target but denied, three were too wide while the other two were no trouble for Nkwazi goalie, Charles Muntanga.
Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Benson Sakala said that he was aiming for a win against Nkana on Saturday in order to escalate on Stream B league table.
“I am hoping to win against Nkana because if you see the table, we are not doing so well and no team can be underrated. We just have to train hard, play better than we did in the last three games and hopefully win,” said Sakala.
Power is seventh on Stream B table with three points. They have played three games of which one was a win against MUZA while the other two are losses to Green Eagles and High Flying Nkwazi in that order.
