A GOLD medal has continued to elude Zambia at the ongoing Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) under 18 and under 20 championships at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. However, athletics coach Sydney Mushipi remains hopeful that Zambia will reap medals in the last two days of the competition. Zambia’s medal count stands at three after three days of the competition, having claimed two silver through Thompson Mbewe and Isaac Mambwe in 400m and 100m races respectively while the bronze medal was clinched by Phostina Banda in high jump. Zambia stands in eighth position in the overall medal count with Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Ethiopia making the top four.
