COMMONWEALTH and African 400m champion Muzala Samukonga yesterday limped out of the Silesia Wanda Diamond League race in tears with what looked like a hamstring injury. In what was termed the most competitive 400m race in almost five years, Samukonga, with the world lead time of 43.93s this year, had competition from world record holder Wayde van Niekerk and Botswana hotshot Bayapo Ndori. But after just 100m and rounding the first bend, Samukonga started limping and clutching his hamstring before burying his head in his hands as he left the tracks in tears.
