ZAMBIA has successfully defended its COSAFA Cup crown after winning the 2023 final against Lesotho courtesy of a Moyela Libamba goal at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, South Africa. This is Zambia’s seventh COSAFA Cup title and Durban has become a home to three of the Chipolopolo’s victories after the titles won in 2019 and 2022. The Copper Bullets have now won back-to-back COSAFA Cup titles for the first time since 1997 and 1998 during the inaugural two editions and in the process Zambia has become the first nation to retain the title twice.
