In a statement yesterday, Katongo revealed that one of the suspects was the deceased’s lover.

“Woman Constable Chembwe of Katimalilo Police Station, traffic section was reported missing two weeks ago and she left a one year old baby. An investigation was launched, and led to the apprehension of two people. After searching the house of one suspect believed to have been an intimate male friend, blood was discovered an indication that she was murdered and her phone was recovered from the same house and was identified by relatives that it belonged to the victim. Further investigations have revealed a shallow grave located 10 kilometers from sesheke in the bush where the suspect is suspected to have been buried,” stated Katongo.

“Arrangements are being made to have the body exhumed. We have withheld the names of the two suspects as investigations have continued. We have two suspects in police custody.”
