TRANSPARENCY International Zambia (TI-Z) president Sampa Kalungu has hailed President Hakainde Hichilema for firing corruption-accused former Ministry of Health permanent secretary in charge of administration Dr George Magwende, saying it proves his commitment to fighting graft. But Kalungu says the Anti-Corruption Commission should have summoned Dr Magwende for questioning while he was still serving in order to avoid any speculation that sitting government officials cannot be quizzed.
