ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha has urged investigative wings to always read and follow the law when they are faced with a situation which might require granting any form of immunity to suspects. The Lusaka High Court’s Economic and Financial Crimes recently set aside Magistrate Jennifer Bwalya’s decision to discharge Ronald Chitotela of two counts of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime. Magistrate Bwalya earlier discharged Chitotela on the basis that the Anti-Corruption Commission had made an undertaking not to institute criminal proceedings against him by way of a Settlement Agreement.
