MINISTRY of Health Permanent Secretary Professor Lackson Kasonka says it is not yet certain when the actual procurement of drugs from Egypt will be as all processes are yet to be completed. And President Hakainde Hichilema says no further excuses will be tolerated for late delivery of drugs throughout the country. Last month, a multi-discipline team comprising officials from the ZAMMSA, ZAMRA, ZPPA and officials from Ministry of Health and other ministries led by Presidential advisor on health, Prof Roma Chilengi, traveled to Cairo, Egypt, to conduct due diligence before signing a deal for bulk purchase of essential medicines from that country.
