PARLIAMENTARY committee on local government accounts Chairperson Darius Mulunda has recommended a complete overhaul of principal officers in councils to address reports of abuse of office. And Local Government Service Commission Chairperson Ackson Sejani says the commission does not tolerate officers involved in abuse of office as severe punishment is meted on those found wanting. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating Chipata City Council Town Clerk Aaron Kamalondo for abuse of office which includes, misappropriating public funds, harassing and intimidating others, and using his position to influence decisions to benefit himself and his close associates.
