THE Department of Immigration has removed 242 illegal immigrants from Zambia following a mass removal operation. In a statement, Tuesday, Immigration Chief Public Relations Officer Namati Nshinka said of the 242, 217 were Burundian nationals, 15 Tanzanian nationals, among others. “The Department of Immigration has removed a total of 242 illegal immigrants from the country following a mass removal operation conducted on Sunday, 8th February, 2026. Those removed comprised of 217 Burundian nationals, 15 Tanzanian nationals, eight Rwandan nationals and two Congolese nationals.
