A GROUP of UPND cadres yesterday attacked Gary Nkombo in full view of police in an attempt to block him from filing his nomination as an independent candidate for Mazabuka Central constituency. Nkombo was left with a ripped shirt and a bruised arm after fighting off the cadres in defence before successfully filing his nomination at Mazabuka Civic Centre. Meanwhile, President Hakainde Hichilema has condemned the attacks and called on law enforcement agencies to move swiftly and professionally to arrest all those responsible. During the altercation, Nkombo could be seen kicking and punching some advancing cadres as he moved towards the nomination centre before the police intervened to control the situation outside.
