GOVERNMENT has signed a US$2 billion agreement with UAE-based DIHAD Sustainable Project Management to build a Medical City in Lusaka. Minister of Health Prof Roma Chilengi signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday at the UAE-Zambia Business Forum, which was officiated by President Hakainde Hichilema. The Medical City is expected to position the country as Southern Africa’s centre of excellence in health tourism and is aimed at reducing the number of Zambians travelling abroad for complex treatment at a great cost to families and government.
