IT took the UPND many years to form government. The Patriotic Front that was formed later surpassed the UPND to become the first in power between the two political parties. Late president Rupiah Banda who was a quick fix solution was able to enter State House before Mr Hakainde Hichilema. The same can be said about Mr Edgar Lungu who ruled this country ahead of Mr Hichilema, despite never having planned for it. Destiny had it, however, that Mr Hichilema would still be Republican President of this country. This was made possible because of the characteristic of one man. The survival of the UPND in opposition politics, despite many failures can fairly be attributed to the tenacity of its leader...
