THE decision by the Development Bank of Zambia board to reject demands from employees who want end of year bonuses is commendable. According to our findings, employees of the bank which has recently been threatened with closure due to liquidity challenges are demanding performance bonuses amounting to about K4 million in total. Further, our findings show that there has been an uproar in the hierarchy of the bank between some senior managers and the board where management contends that money should be paid to deserving employees.
