Today we revisit women’s football after the dust has settled following the end of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. There has been a glorious rise of the game in Zambia since 2014 when the juniors, now the Copper Queens qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Costa Rica and their predecessors also played at the WAFCON tournament proper in Namibia that same year. The game has risen in leaps and bounds with unprecedented milestones including the back-to-back WAFCON qualifications that saw Zambia reach the semifinals for the first time in 2022.
