VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango has told UN International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) Associate Vice President Corporate Services Department, Guoqi Wu, that the country is in a desperate situation because of drought. Vice-President Nalumango says the country has had calamity after calamity in terms of agriculture and food security. Speaking during the meeting with Wu on Thursday, Vice-President Nalumango said drought had affected close to 10 million people, and 6.6 million of those needed government support. “Your fulfilled visit to us is timely.
