FORMER president Edgar Lungu has signed a deal with Charles Phiri, the purported owner of the land on which Crest Lodge was built, claiming to own the property. PACRA records, however, show his daughter Chiyeso as owner of 7,500 shares, representing 50 percent stake and she is also indicated as the “individual beneficial owner” of the property according to the official registry. This is the property which the Drug Enforcement Commission wants to seize from Chiyeso and forfeit to the State as it is believed to be “proceeds of crime”.
