POLICE Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the country has recorded a 24 percent decline in gender based violence in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. In a statement, Saturday, Hamoonga said the cases include 6,421 criminal reports and 5,957 non-criminal reports, translating to 52 percent and 48 percent respectively. “The Zambia Police Service has recorded a total of 12,378 reports of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) countrywide during the Fourth Quarter of 2024.
