PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is sad and concerned that some people are fuelling a false narrative suggesting that he is sick. He says such people are wishing him dead and he does not understand why people would be so heartless as to joke about death on a fellow human. Our advicee to him is that he should take heart when he encounters such hatred, mockery and malice. Unpleasant as it is, this is not a new phenomenon, nor is it unique to his presidency. It is, in fact, normal in any society where power is contested, emotions run high and politics is deeply personal.
