MINISTRY of Energy Permanent Secretary Professor Ephraim Munshifwa says Indeni will continue operating as an Oil Marketing Company instead of a refinery due to its outdated technology. In April this year, Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa appeared before the Committee on Parastatal Bodies, where he disclosed that government’s decision to transition Indeni Energy Limited from an oil refinery into an oil marketing company was regrettable. He added that if time could be reversed, such a move would not have been allowed.
