THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced further adjustments to the flight schedule for transporting ballot papers into Zambia, but has assured stakeholders that all ballots will still be delivered this week.
In a statement, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro said the Commission had earlier informed stakeholders that the first two consignments of ballot papers were expected to arrive in Lusaka on Tuesday, July 28.
Kasaro further said the Commission would provide another update today on the revised flight schedule, including the specific day and time the consignments would arrive in Zambia.
“The Commission wishes to update stakeholders and members of the general public on the revised schedule for the transportation and arrival of ballot papers. Stakeholders and members of the public may recall that, yesterday, 26th July 2026, the Commission indicated that the first two consignments for ballot papers were scheduled to arrive in Lusaka on Tuesday, 28th July 2026. However, the Commission would like to advise that further adjustments have been made to the flight schedule,” stated Kasaro.
“Notwithstanding the change in the flight schedule, the Commission would like to assure all the stakeholders that all ballot papers will be delivered in Zambia this week. The Commission will issue a further update, tomorrow 28th July 2026, on the revised flight schedule advising stakeholders on the day and time of arrival of the ballot papers. The Commission wishes to acknowledge and commend the invaluable collaboration from stakeholders for the partnership and diligent monitoring and observation of the critical final phases of ballot paper packaging and transportation”.
