The Football Association of Zambia says the Under 23 squad that qualified to the Egypt 2019 AfCON on Sunday had a horrific, strange and frightening experience after their side of the pitch was sprinkled with broken egg shells during the warm up for the second leg match against Congo Brazzaville at Alphonse Massamba-Debat Stadium.
The association that seems overly suspicion of the occurrence refers to the experience as ‘the dark side of the game’.
The shells were eventually swept off by the Zambian technical bench and the team went on with the warm up.
“The Zambia Under-23 side had an eerie experience during the warm up at the Alphonse Massamba-Debat Stadium when their side of the pitch was sprinkled with what looked like broken eggs. Some members of the technical bench just swept the shells and yolk off the pitch and got on with the warm up. Your Thoughts?” read a statement from the association.
Zambia drew three all but won 5-4 on aggregate to advance to this year’s AfCON finals scheduled for November in Egypt.
President Edgar Lungu has since congratulated the boys and challenged them to emerge victorious at the finals.
He also described the current U-23 squad as one of the most talented that the country has seen over the years.
The AfCON will also be used to determine who goes to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as top three finalists at this year’s tournament will automatically qualify.
Zambia last participated at the tournament in 1988.

It was just a psychological warfare, with the view to intimidate the team.
When you have a self belief not even juju works.
The ones who dig the pit fell into it kkkkk
