ERB Director General Engineer Elijah Sichone says Zambia could lose about $61 million in tax revenue following government’s suspension of Excise Duty and zero-rating of VAT on petrol and diesel. However, Sichone says had it not been for the timely intervention by government, petrol would have increased by K7.62 per litre, while diesel would have risen by K14.16 per litre, instead of the current increases of K0.54 for petrol and K6.53 for diesel.
