FINANCE and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says if government did not suspend import duty, fuel prices would have spiked to levels that would have negatively affected the economy. And Dr Musokotwane says government will engage the Teaching Service Commission over teachers who have continued to receive rural hardship allowances after transferring themselves from rural to urban schools. Dr Musokotwane said this during the launch of the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) Assessment Reports and the Integrated Public Financial Management Reform Strategy. Dr Musokotwane said the increase in fuel prices was not government’s making, adding that it was a victim of what was happening in the world. “This year we started off well, but here we are again....
