ZAMBEZI Animal Welfare Services Limited has filed a notice of appeal in the Lusaka High Court over the State’s decision to seize 69 dogs which were supposed to be transported to the Democratic Republic of Congo, out of which 50 are now dead. Zambezi Animal Welfare Services says it intends to appeal against the order dated July 15, 2022, in which a district veterinary officer, Dr Nchimunya Ngona, was granted a disposal order to slaughter the dogs following the seizure. The organisation argues in its notice of appeal that the veterinary officer erred when he failed to ascertain the medical status of the animals, and that he also erred in obtaining an order of the disposal of the 69 animals....
