ACTING PF secretary general Nickson Chilangwa says the nullification of Joseph Malanji’s election as Kwacha member of parliament is shocking, questioning the kind of justice being served in Zambia. Yesterday, Malanji lost his seat after the Constitutional Court upheld the High Court’s decision to nullify his election on grounds that he did not possess the requisite academic qualification when filing his nomination papers. Constitutional Court vice president professor Margaret Munalula, who delivered the majority judgement on behalf of other judges, said Malanji did not possess a grade 12 certificate at the time of filing his nomination, and as such, he did not qualify to contest the seat.
