TWO money lenders commonly known as “Chimutengo cha ndrama” have pleaded not guilty to seven counts of obtaining money by false pretences and carrying on a business as money lenders without a license. Webster Shamuyombwe, 52, and Besnart Tembo are jointly charged for obtaining K653,000 from various people by falsely pretending that it was upfront administration fees to give them loans when in fact not. When the matter came up for plea, Thursday, the two pleaded not guilty after magistrate Davies Chibwili read out the charges to them.
