TONSE Pamodzi Alliance Secretary General Celestine Mukandila has asked the Lusaka High Court to grant him leave for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus, over his continued detention. Mukandila has cited the Attorney General and Immigration Department as respondents in the matter. On August 20, 2026 the Department of Immigration arrested Mukandila following a report relating to his immigration status, adding to the list of 18 Tonse Alliance members who have been arrested by the police and charged with treason.
