THE Lusaka High Court has granted Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Secretary General Celestine Mukandila leave to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, ordering authorities to present him in court to justify his detention. Earlier, Department of Immigration opposed Mukandila’s application for habeas corpus, arguing that he has not produced credible sureties to facilitate the issuance of police bond. Mukandila asked the Lusaka High Court to grant him leave for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus, over his continued detention of over 14 days. Mukandila cited the Attorney General and Immigration Department as respondents in the matter.
