Zesco targets home, away CAF triumphBy Tenson Mkhala on 24 Feb 2017
ZESCO United coach Zlatko Krmpotic has told his team to win both home and away 2017 CAF champion league tie.
Krmpotic said he has respect for every opponent that his side would face and urged his players to work hard.
“We have respect for every opponent we will meet but, we must win both games. We have 90 minutes at home and another 90 minutes away, to make sure of that,” said Krmpotic.
Krmpotic said his team had intensified training and that he was hopeful that it would do better.
Zesco will face Le Ngozi Messager of Burundi in the first round in March before facing a Ngozi side, that overturned a 2-1 first leg away loss, to KVZ of Zanzibar on February 12, to win 3-0 at home on February 18, to ensure their first round date with Zesco.
On March 11, 2017, Zesco will be home in the first leg in Ndola and travel to Bujumbura on March 19 for the final leg decider.
Winner will advance to the last thirty-two, where they will be drawn against pre-group stage losers, from the CAF Champions League for a place in May’s group phase.Related Items
