President Edgar Lungu says the performance of Junior Chipolopolo at the on going FIFA World Tournament in South Korea is evidence that team work and unity brings about positive results.

According to a statement issued by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda today, President Lungu was impressed with the team spirit exhibited by the boys so far.

“President Edgar Lungu is extremely delighted at the stunning team spirit and unity of purpose exhibited by the Zambia Under-20 football team at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in South Korea and particularly in today’s game in which the Junior Chipolopolo beat the Iranian side 4-2. the Head of State said ‘as I said last Sunday when the Junior Chipolopolo defeated Portugal in the opening match, team spirit and singleness of purpose can surmount any challenges we face as a nation. The team’s flawless progression now seems to be a remarkable fairytale’,”Chanda stated.

Chanda stated President Lungu was confident that the young Chipolopolo were about to make history.

“The President said’ ‘The gallant boys again have shown us another great example that, when we are united and focused, we can always be a winning nation. I congratulate the team whole-heartedly and pledge my own and government support to their continued campaign. I have no doubt, this team is about to make history’,” stated Chanda.

This morning, Zambia came from 2 nil down to beat Iran by 4 goals to two in the Under-20 FIFA world Cup game.
