Patriotic Front (PF) cadre Munir Zulu has charged that the ruling party would have continued growing had Defence Minister Davies Chama remained as Secretary General instead of the current one who is always emotionally charged.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page yesterday, Zulu narrated that Mwila was denied entry into Matero Constituency where he went to conduct ongoing intra party elections on Tuesday.

He wondered why the party was still refusing to accept that it had challenges.

“Sometimes I wonder why we choose to leave in live denial. Today our party CEO [Davies Mwila] has failed to conduct intra party elections in Matero constituency because the grassroots don’t want him to impose a certain group of candidates on them. Instead they blocked his motorcade from getting to the venue. Now he has decided to hold Matero elections in Lusaka central at Mulungushi International Conference centre, non of the previous secretary generals of PF has ever been chased by their own members,” stated Zulu.

“When you tell them to say ‘allow democracy’ to flourish within [the party], they send thugs from intercity alleging we don’t respect them. When you tell them the truth then you have no respect for leadership, yet people are getting frustrated everyday. In my view, the party will grow if we had Hon Davies Chama as Secretary General than the man we have now. It’s difficult to reason with people that are always emotionally charged. Anyway, let’s see how the ending of these intra party elections will end. My hope is that we have less bloodshed because the way things are moving aweh (no).”
