Brandy is coming, if you don’t like her try Vodka – fansBy Martha Mwanza and Felix Kashweka on 21 Jun 2019
Stanbic Bank Public Relations and Communications Manager Chanda Chime Katongo says Grammy award-winner Brandy will this year headline the 2019 Stanbic Music Festival.
The news has set social media ablaze with colourful quotes from fans who have vowed not to miss the event.
Katongo said the US mega star will join top local artists such as Afunika, Mampi, Izrael, Danny and Chef 187 for the sixth edition of the country’s biggest musical festival at the Lusaka Polo Club on October 4 and 5.
“The Stanbic Music Festival is a unique platform that allows local music talents to perform side by side with renowned international artistes as well as to learn from one another – from arranging a concert to executing it on stage. It is one way local musicians can grow their influence beyond our borders,” Katongo said.
According to a statement made available to News Diggers Katongo said Brandy was set to add another thrilling episode to the Stanbic Musical Festival that had become the must-go-to event for music-lovers.
“The music festival has grown and become a permanent feature on everyone’s calendar, and it is steadily becoming a significant tourist attraction. People from as far as Uganda, Zimbabwe, Angola, South Africa, Tanzania and many other countries attend the two-day show which demonstrates the magnitude of the event,” said Katongo.
“We are sending a vibrant message while exposing Zambia to the world. The music festival gives Brandy and the local musicians an opportunity to share and sample Zambia’s music and culture around the globe,” said Katongo.
Brandy Rayana Norwood, professionally known as Brandy, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actress who is expected to unleash her hit catalogue of songs such as “Full Moon”, “True”, “Fall”, “Finally”, “Focus”, “Piano Man”, “Who I am?”, “Should I Go”, “Where you Wanna Be” and “Put It Down”.
Stanbic Bank last year hosted R’n’B giants Brian McKnight and Joe Thomas at the Lusaka Polo Club were thousands of fans got a lifetime opportunity to watch their idols and sing along to their all-time hits.
Before that Stanbic Bank brought Hugh Masekela, Oliver Mtukudzi, MiCasa, Earl Klugh, Lira, UB40 and the iconic R&B group Boyz II Men.
And fans can’t seem to say enough about the exciting news, as enthusiasts took to social to show their love.
“If Brandy is indeed coming for the Stanbic music fest, I’m ready to sacrifice my son’s formula money…he’ll drink sour milk, elo he hates it.
Another follower @BabaTundeZM tweeted:
“All I’m saying is, if you don’t like Brandy, try Vodka”.
“Brandy can take my coins. People gonna get pregnant”.
“ I don’t even need a refresher course on Brandy’s music. If she wants to lipsync she can even just let me sing for her”.Related Items
