SPEAKER of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti says members of parliament do not need police permits to carry out activities in their constituencies. The Speaker was ruling on a point of order raised by Nkana independent member of parliament Binwell Mpundu, who asked whether Home Affairs Minister Jack Mwiimbu was in order to allow police officers to block his activities in his constituency. Over the weekend, Kabushi PF member of parliament Bowman Lusambo was also stopped by police as he was carrying out his activities in the constituency. In his point of order, Tuesday, Mpundu wondered how many police permits he would be expected to get for the next five years whenever he wanted to conduct activities in his constituency....
