FORMER Ministry of Health permanent secretary Dr George Magwende signed a contract for the construction of pre-fabricated Covid-19 health facilities at a cost of US$100 million, without following procedure, sources at Cabinet Office have told News Diggers. Meanwhile the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday summoned Dr Magwende to appear for questioning today on allegations of corruption. President Hakainde Hichilema fired Dr Magwende with immediate effect on Sunday and wished him well in his future endeavours.
