ZESCO Managing Director Victor Mapani says he was ready to quit his job if Zesco didn’t cancel certain contracts, stating that big Chinese companies were given advance payments totaling US$35 million which the company had to recover. And Industrial Development Corporation Chief Executive Officer Perry Mapani has admitted that he failed to critically scrutinise the agreement with Egyptian company, El Sewedy Electric (Z) Limited when that company suspiciously paid K2 million dividends to Zesco.
