PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has declared Tuesday, June 9, 2026, a day of national mourning for Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV. Chief Mpezeni, who died at the University Teaching Hospital on Saturday after an illness, was yesterday repatriated to Eastern Province, where thousands of mourners received his body in Chipata ahead of his burial on Tuesday.
