The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says it is concerned with the lack of response from the local printing companies regarding the possibility of printing the 2026 ballot papers locally. In an interview, ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis said the commission had written to many local companies but none of them had responded to its request that they must prove they had capacity to handle the huge task. “We just cancelled a tender as you know, it was in the newspapers advertising ballot papers so that we can restart the process.
