BARRICK Lumwana says only a small part of its mine was affected by uranium contamination of water in November last year, asserting that the uranium exposure was negligible due to both duration and low concentration. The mining company says prompt communication of the incident was made to relevant authorities including ZEMA and the Mines Safety Department (MSD), who visited the mine and independently investigated the incident.
