HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo says in Zambia, the treatment success rate for Tuberculosis (TB) has been over 90 percent for the last five years. Speaking during the commemoration of the 2024 World TB Day in Kabwe, Tuesday, Masebo said Zambia had achieved an impressive 49 percent increase in detecting and treating TB patients, from 36,866 in 2019 to 54,848 in 2022. She said this high performance was sustained in 2023 when nearly 55,000 TB patients were detected. “I would like to draw your attention to the ongoing threat of TB to the world, our nation, families, and communities.
