IN a dramatic turn of events, former Copperbelt Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi, who was fired and arrested for “Theft by Public Servant” has been given a lesser charge of “fraudulently dealing in metals”. His lawyer Siisii Mulele says this is because the Police have failed to establish the initial charge that had been slapped on Yuyi. In July, Police arrested Yuyi and five others for alleged theft of copper cathodes recovered in Mufulira District. Others arrested include Magistrate Edward Banda, police officers Patrick Muti, Boniface Nchimunya and Court Clerk Obrian Chipunza, all from Mufulira.
