A 21-YEAR-OLD man of Itezhi-tezhi is on the run after being caught allegedly trying to defile a five-year-old girl. The suspect was allegedly found on top of the child with his pants down to the knee level by the victims’ elder sister. In a statement, Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo said the incident occurred on January 2, around 08:15 hours in Itezhi-tezhi’s Chibolya B residential area. “On January 2, 2026, at 09:00 hours, Itezhi-tezhi Police Station received a report of attempted defilement from a 45-year-old woman of Chibolya B Compound, Itezhi Tezhi District.
