GOVERNMENT says it has secured the 312 megawatts solar power project at a cost of about US$232 million under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Nicholas Phiri says the investment will involve two megawatts of solar fields for each of the 156 constituencies. Meanwhile, Phiri says he will be a “proud” former public servant when he leaves office, as the solar project has been made possible under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema.
