President Edgar Lungu is tomorrow expected to travel to Egypt for a three-day visit.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Egypt Major General Topply Lubaya told ZANIS that President Lungu would, during the visit, hold bilateral talks with his host President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to discuss matters of bilateral, regional and global interest.

“The President is also expected to, among other engagements, undertake site visits to the Arab Industrial Authority, the Suez Canal Fisheries Establishment and the Economic Industrial Zone,” Maj Gen Lubaya explained.

He said the visit was also expected to result into the signing of some Memoranda of Understanding in tourism, youth and sport, and health sectors.

“Zambia and Egypt enjoy warm bilateral relations dating back from way back when we just got our independence. So we hope this visit will renew the relationship that has existed from time immemorial,” he said.

Maj Gen Lubaya added that the President would be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mwanakatwe and Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya.

He said the Ministers will also be accompanied by some senior government officials.
