SWEDISH Ambassador to Zambia Johan Hallenborg says Swedish companies are hesitating to invest in Zambia because of “pervasive” corruption, which prompts them to move their investments elsewhere. And Ambassador Hallenborg says the price to pay for corruption should be much higher than just forfeiting the proceeds of crime to the state. Ambassador Hallenborg said although it was encouraging to see the launch of investigations into past and present corruption, the Swedish government was concerned that corruption remained a widespread problem in Zambia.
