PATRIOTS for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo has discontinued a matter in which he sued the state in the Lusaka High Court over the alleged purchase of ZAMBEEF’s Chiawa farm at US$13.5 million. This is according to a Notice of Discontinuance filed before the Lusaka High Court on September 12, 2024. “Take notice that the applicant herein has with immediate effect wholly discontinued this matter commenced against the respondents on August 22, 2024,” read the notice. Tembo, who cited the Attorney General as the respondent, wanted an order of certiorari to declare that the decision to purchase the private land at US$13.5 million was unlawful, irrational, and made without following proper procedures, and therefore null and void ab initio....
