ECONOMIST Lubinda Haabazoka says the suspension of aid by the US government is a wake-up call for Zambia to reduce its dependency on other countries’ goodwill. Haabazoka argues that the mining sector can sustain the economy, and that the country only needs to protect its mineral resources.
