National Democratic Congress (NDC) Roan member of parliament, Joseph Chishala says there is too much injustice in the country, citing the cancellation of his party’s planned thanks-giving rally by the Zambia Police.

Speaking when he addressed congregants at United Church of Zambia, Mpatamatu congregation, Sunday, Chishala accused PF of ordering the cancellation of his thanks-giving rally so that voters feel aggrieved and consider him ungrateful.

“I am very happy to come back here today, I came here first during campaigns but because of God’s goodness, his will prevailed. I am here to thank you for electing me as MP for Roan. As you have noticed, there is a lot of injustice in this country, we were supposed to hold a thanks giving rally in Mpatamatu stadium, we even got a permit from the police. Due to injustice, they cancelled our meeting so that we should not come and thank you our people, so that you may think that we have disregarded you after voting for us. However, we are not worried because as NDC we believe in God only, hence let’s put whatever is happening in God’s hands. Despite them restricting us, I am here today thanking you all for electing me as your MP,” Chishala said.

Chishala called on the people to unite beyond the past by-election and work together to develop the area.

“I want to notify you that the campaign period is over, we were in different political parties according to our own convictions but that time is now gone. I am now requesting you all to unite so that we work together, we should not hate one another because of our political affiliation. Let us unite and work together as this is time to work together. There is a lot of work to be done here within this short period of time, I am asking for your continued support and prayers so that God can give me more wisdom to work for you,” said Chishala.

“My office is ever open for you, you are more than welcome to see me and discuss developmental issues of our area. I will be in the office every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Sundays like this, I will be coming to congregate with you.”
