VETERAN politician Vernon Mwaanga has advised citizens to be patient and supportive as government tries to resolve the debt crisis. Commenting on Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Du Xiaohui’s remarks that Zambia’s debt to China should not stop the two countries’ bilateral relations, Mwaanga said in an interview that the Chinese Envoy “hit the nail on the head”. “When the new dawn government came into office in August 2021, they inherited a colossal national debt from the PF government which included the notorious Eurobonds which attract much higher interests.
